(For Throwers) Hello Athletes and Parents,

I hope everyone is doing well and healthy as we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday. I’m reaching out to share our winter training schedule with everyone. Our 1st 4-week session will be starting on Monday Nov 28th and meeting up until Thursday Dec 22nd. We will be off until Monday Jan 2nd. Our second 5-week session will run from Monday Jan 2nd through Thursday Feb 2nd.

Our regular track season will start on Monday February 6th with competitions starting in late Feb.

I’m attaching the flyer with all of the details. I’m asking for $100 for the 9-week session. I would like ALL returning and previously experienced throwers to come for the 9-week session. I’m asking for beginners to join us for the last 5-week session ($75). As I have always done…If this cost is not something you are comfortable with, please let me know and I will work with you.

I DO NOT WANT THE COST TO KEEP ATHLETES FROM TRAINING…I WANT ALL THOWERS TO ATTEND. So, if there is an issue, no problem…communicate with me. But COME TO PRACTICE!

Two things to put on your to-do list:
1) Start taking the steps to get athletically cleared through the DV athletics office:

Instructions for Parents: Please complete all paperwork at least one week prior to try-outs, in order to be cleared on the first day of try-outs. All athletes must have accident or health insurance coverage in order to start the process. Students will not be cleared without insurance.

2) If you are a Shot Put and/or Discus thrower. Consider getting a pair of throwing shoes for Shot Put and Discus. I recommend the Nike Zoom Rival SD or SD2, SD3, or SD4. These come in a few different colors. Here is a link, but you may find them at several on-line retailers and locally at “Sole Sports”. If the yellow/orange color is not appealing, you will find other colors available from multiple sources.
